About Me
Hi! I’m Merrie Robin, married to my husband Ryan, whom I met at Tennessee Tech, where I earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. I spent many years working as an engineer before choosing to stay home after the birth of our third child. Ryan and I have four children, and now—almost unbelievably—they’re nearly all grown.
Flowers have always been part of my life, not just in gardens but in the everyday spaces around my home. I’ve always loved planting potted flowers in planters on our porch and around the house, bringing color and life to the places where we gather and welcome others.
Both of my parents love flowers, especially daylilies and zinnias. One of my fondest childhood memories is spending time with my dad collecting zinnia seeds, carefully carrying them back to the house, and dreaming about planting them again the next summer. That simple joy of planting, waiting, and watching something grow has stayed with me.
Years later, I had the opportunity to work on a local farm, where I was introduced to the world of cut flowers—ranunculus, dahlias, and so many others I had never experienced before. That experience sparked something new. I began learning all I could through classes, videos, and hands-on practice, discovering just how much joy working with flowers brought into my life.
One of the things I love most is growing flowers from seed and watching how God takes something so small and transforms it into something beautiful. There is joy in every stage—from planting and patiently waiting, to seeing the first blooms appear.
Alongside growing, I also fell in love with floral design. I remember thinking how neat it must be to design wedding flowers when I planned my own—never imagining that nearly 30 years later, I’d be creating bouquets and arrangements myself. I love both parts of the process: nurturing the seed and designing something meaningful from what has grown.
That joy—from seed to design—is the heart behind Joyful Blooms. Every arrangement is created with care, creativity, and a belief that flowers have a beautiful way of bringing joy to everyday moments.
